Description
Laura’s mixed level set includes three lessons, between 47 – 54 minutes in length, recorded from a live class and edited in 2014. These three lessons are fun, approachable lessons that build towards a remarkable change in flexibility in a short period of time. They are fun and impressive lessons both to do and to teach. These are great for beginners and intermediate students alike, share with your friends, family, and students, to give them the Feldenkrais “wow” experience.
1. Foot on Head, 47
This lesson takes place in sitting, lying on the back, and eventually rolling up to sit (by first rolling to the side) and back again in a reversible movement. The lesson develops deeper and deeper flexion, and hip external rotation, so that it becomes significantly easier to put your foot on top of your head, or closer in that direction.
2. Easier Side bending, 54
This classic lesson takes place lying on the back with one knee bent. You reach down to touch your heel, then put your hand under your foot, then eventually life your hip and lower your knee towards the floor. In a very short time you develop great flexibility in side bending the ribs and torso, and in hip internal rotation.
3. Lightening the Arms, 46
This is a version of “Taking the Arm Back,” in which you start by lying on your side and simply lifting your arm towards the ceiling. It includes lots of variations of twisting the spine, rotting the arm, lengthening and shortening the arm, rolling the head, and more….so the result at the end is a much lighter arm that moves in a new trajectory with a wider range of movement. One of Laura’s all time favorites to teach when trying to persuade a venue to offer ATM classes.
