Description
Laura’s beginning level set includes 9 lessons, between 12-44 minutes in length, recorded from a live class series and edited in 2012. These lessons improve the use and comfort of your hands, wrists, forearms and elbows. You work directly with your hands, which is a powerful way to access your nervous system for change. The goals are to improve both function and mobility, as well as to release limiting tension and restrictions. You also relate hand movements to your feet, ankles, hips, shoulders and torso. Positions: lying on the back, side, and stomach. Many of these lessons can be done while lying in bed. Be careful though, they are so relaxing you may fall asleep!
All of the lessons except for 3, 8 and 9 can be done on a bed. For lessons 4 and 5 you will need to push pillows out of the way and most likely lie on top of your blankets or move them out of the way. For lessons 1, 2, 6, and 7 you can do these underneath your blankets, with a pillow under your knees if you like, and your arms outside the blankets. By the way, these latter 4 lessons (1, 2, 6, 7) all work with one hand in the first lesson and the second hand in the next lesson. You can use this strategy by just doing one of the lessons, with the hand/wrist/arm that has less pain if you have pain, and then let your nervous system fill in the learning on the second side. This strategy works very well, for the sake of time, and for the effects when one side has pain or more pain.
